چکیده

The model recently proposed in Ref.1 is used to derive linear integro– differential equations whose solutions provide reasonable estimates for the momentum distribution and condensate fraction in interacting many–boson system at zero temperature. An advantage of these equations is that they can be employed in the weak coupling regime and beyond. As an example, analytical treatment of the weak coupling case is given. PACS: 05.30.Jp, 67.90.+z A new way of investigating spatial particle correlations has recently been proposed for the many–boson system in the ground state [1]. It results in integro–differential equations for the pair distribution function. They accurately take into account the short–range boson correlations and, in the weak coupling regime, yield thermodynamics which reasonably agrees ∗Permanent address: Obninsk Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering, Studgorodok, Obninsk, 249020, Russia

Bose Gases in an Optical Lattice

We report on the study of the momentum distribution of a one-dimensional Bose gas in an optical lattice. From the momentum distribution we extract the condensed fraction of the gas and thereby measure the depletion of the condensate and compare it with a theorical estimate. We have measured the coherence length of the gas for systems with average occupation n̄ > 1 and n̄ < 1 per lattice site. 1 T...

Revealing the condensate and noncondensate distributions in the inhomogeneous Bose-Hubbard model

We calculate the condensate fraction and the condensate and noncondensate spatial and momentum distribution of the Bose-Hubbard model in a trap. From our results, it is evident that using approximate distributions can lead to erroneous experimental estimates of the condensate. Strong interactions cause the condensate to develop pedestal-like structures around the central peak that can be mistak...

A Three-Coefficient Model with Global Optimization for Heavy End Characterization of Gas Condensate PVT Data

Characterization of heavy end, as plus fraction, is among the most crucial steps in predicting phase behavior of a hydrocarbon fluid system. Proper selection of single carbon number (SCN) distribution function is essential for heavy end characterization. The SCN distribution function is subject to fluid nature. The exponential distribution function has been and is widely applied to gas condensa...

SPATIAL CORRELATIONS IN SPIN-POLARIZED 3He LIQUID

Variational Fermi HNC calculations are performed for spin-polarized 3 ~ e liquid at zero temperature. The trial wave function is optimized by solving an Euler-Lagrange equation in the Fermi HNC approximation. Results for liquid structure function and one-particle momentum distribution are compared with the corresponding quantities of the spin-saturated liquid. In this report we present results ...

Vortex pairing in two-dimensional Bose gases

Recent experiments on ultracold Bose gases in two dimensions have provided evidence for the existence of the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) phase via analysis of the interference between two independent systems. In this work we study the two-dimensional quantum degenerate Bose gas at finite temperature using the projected Gross-Pitaevskii equation classical field method. Although this de...
